Basinas Tracker: 180 degrees

Less than 24 hours after the breakout of rumors linking Angelos Basinas to Olympiacos, the rumors have now turned 180 degrees after a meeting between club officials and representatives of the Greek international.
Yesterday’s speculation broke out mayhem amongst the club’s supporters, but all is calm now after Olympiacos rejected the contractual conditions proposed by Basinas’ agent. The deal proposed by Olympiacos was to last 2 years, but Basinas wanted a 3 year. With the length of the contract in dispute, one can assume the money offered was also in question.
Despite the failure to sign Basinas, Olympiacos fans are in a pre-mature state of pandemonium. In all honesty, it was very rare to find a fan that was excited about the possibility of a long-time foe arriving in Piraeus. Surprisingly, AEK club President has become a temporary ‘friend’ as his club is prepared to sign Basinas — avoiding a Greek tragedy within the Greek Champions.
