Countdown Begins: Super League Fixtures Released

The Super League season is one step closer to kickoff after the Hellenic Football Federation conducted the draw for the 2008/2009 Super League season. The draw which produced a Panathinaikos vs. Olympiacos derby in two of the last three years, created another opening day derby this year — instead of Olympiacos, AEK will tackle Panathinaikos on the first weekend. Olympiacos open up their title defense this year with a tilt at the Georgios Karaiskaki against last year’s dark horses Asteras Tripolis. Olympiacos will tackle AEK on Matchday 5, while the next episode of the Greek ‘El Clásico’ is set for Matchday 9 at OAKA in Athens.
