Darko has been a bad boy, and he’s sorry!

Just a quick heads up, this is nothing like the time Ronaldo was caught with many transvestites. Fortunately, the stars playing in Piraeus do not make such bad calls as they do in Milan, or dare I say it…Manchester (cough cough, Cristiano Ronaldo, cough, cough)?
Anyway, Darko Kovacevic has been a fan favorite at Karaiskaki ever since he suited up for the first time with the ‘Eruthroleuki’ last year. But the Serb who is known for his clutch scoring, had one less fan after he opened the scoring against rivals AEK on Sunday.
With Sunday’s derby holding high stakes as both teams looked to solidify strong starts to the season, Olympiacos looked the more promising of the two sides occuppying Karaiskaki on that night. With the score level at zero, Olympiacos manager Ernesto Valverde shuffled his lineup by introducing Kovacevic at the hour mark. It didn’t take too long for Kovacevic to make his presence felt as a delightful play ended with Kovacevic stroking a chip past AEK keeper Sebastian Saja. Surely this wasn’t a problem Valverde, as it made him look like a genius - I mean come on, the guy’s first touch is a goal…brilliant!.
However, the scenario did not end with the goal. After celebrating the goal with usual acts of glory, Kovacevic made his way past the Olympiacos bench, shouting in Serbian and pointing in the direction of the Olympiacos boss. On lookerspicked up on the mini-dialogue and interpreted Darko’s rant as a reaction to his spot on the bench to start the game.
I am not fond of the way you celebrated your goal on Sunday. Many might think that you directed your celebration towards me in a retaliatory way. You gave people the means to start rumors,” said Valverde to Kovacevic during training.
“I am not a little kid. I am 35 years old and I understand that I got carried away after scoring the goal. I should not have done that, and for that I apologize,” replied Kovacevic.
However, when he did explain himself it appears Kovacevic did not point the finger at Valverde or begin to rant at the Spaniard. Despite denying the bit of drama that was seen at the Olympiacos bench on Sunday, it is still not clear what Kovacevic said, leaving many to doubt Kovacevic’s denial.
