Just days after Ieroklis Stoltidis was ruled out for three more months, there were several more headaches for Olympiacos manager Ernesto Valverde with two more starting regulars falling to injuries.
The club’s medical staff confirmed Olympiacos will be without the services of Luciano Galletti, Leonardo, Raul Bravo and Paraskevas Antzas for this weekend’s encounter with Larissa. Galletti, who has been Olympiacos star player this year, completed light training in his bid to reach full fitness but nonetheless will not be ready to go this weekend. The main worry is his health ahead of Olympiacos’ crucial match with Hertha Berlin on Thursday for a spot in the first knockout round of the UEFA Cup.
For Antzas, there is less of a rush for him to return to action as no matter the circumstances concerning his health as he misses the match due to suspension. His presence within the Olympiacos backline has been very affective, and will be required to reach full fitness ahead of Olympiacos upcoming matches.
On a refreshing note, Brazilian striker Diogo served his one-game suspension against Levadeiakos last weekend, leaving him available this weekend against Larissa
Valverde announced the list of eighteen players available for selection for this weekend: Nikopolidis, Kovac, Pantos, Avraam Papadopoulos, Vasilis Torosidis, Predrag Djordjevic, Fernando Belluschi, Michal Zewlakow, Sebastian Leto, Dudu Cearense, Giorgos Galitsios, Diogo, Oscar Gonzalez, Patsatzoglou, Konstantinos Mendrinos, Darko Kovacevic, Konstantinos Mitroglou, Didier Domi.
