Both CSKA Moscow and Olympiacos have confirmed that Brazilian play maker Dudu Cearense will make the move from Russia to Greece in the coming days. After days of media reports sending the midfielder to Greece, CSKA’s technical director Roman Babaev confirmed the move earlier in the day.
Olympiacos then confirmed their latest acquisition by releasing a press statement late Monday: “P.A.E. Olympiacos would like to announce that they have come to terms with CSKA Moscow for the transfer of Brazil international Dudu Cearense, who will sign a three year contract. The footballer will arrive in Greece Tuesday afternoon.”
Although not disclosed, it is reported that Olympiacos paid CSKA Moscow € 6 million for the Brazilian’s services. Dudu is expected to complete a medical later this week, then sign a three year deal worth a payout of € 1.5 million annually.
The versatile Brazilian is an attacking midfielder, but his attributes allow him to play in the defensive midfielder role. With the great depth at the DM position, it is expected that Dudu will play more of an attacking role in Greece.
Dudu, who was a transfer target of the Greek Champions for several months but the two clubs could never come to an agreement over a switch. Dudu becomes the 7th import by Olympiacos, but more changes are expected for the Greek Champions.
