Óscar joins Olympiacos
By: Peter Katsiris | July 2nd, 2008
A few weeks after confirming Ernesto Valverde as the club’s new manager, Olympiacos imported another name from la Liga. With an offer of 2.5 million euros, Olympiacos CFP was able to capture the signature of Real Zaragoza’s Óscar Gonzalez. The 25 year old Spaniard spent the last four seasons at Real Zaragoza; but with Zaragoza being relegated, the transfer to Champions League team was tempting. Playing in the central midfield, Óscar will most likely add depth to an aging Olympiacos midfield. The Spaniard has spent all of his professional career in Spain, featuring in the ranks of Real Vallodolid and Real Zaragoza.
Career:
Real Valladolid (2001–2004)
Appearances: 81
Goals: 13
Real Zaragoza (2004-2008)
Appearances: 69
Goals: 10
