Sebastián Leto in on loan
By: Peter Katsiris | July 28th, 2008
Liverpool FC has let Argentinian left winger Sebastián Leto join Olympiacos on a loan deal. The 21-year old is highly regarded by Reds manager Rafa Benitez, and it seems that is why the deal is limited to a loan period. Or, it could be that the club was searching for a temporary move that could add depth in attack.
After joining the Reds from Argentina’s Lanus in 2007, Leto featured in the Liverpool Reserves. Unfortunately for Leto, he never managed to crack the first team for a competitive match. It might be the same story in Greece. Leto will most likely serve as a backup to Olympiacos captain Pedrag Djordjevic, but he could see action in the club’s Greek Cup run.
Leto joins Óscar, Avraam Papadopoulos, Georgios Galitsios, Pavel Kovac, and Giannis Papadopoulos as new arrivals at Limani.

perhaps the main reason he didn’t play much was due to passport issues. The exact nature of those ‘issues’ is vague, but Rafa likes him as a player.
Best of luck with him.

He played in the Champions League against Marseille at Andfield, and he was in a few other games. He was miserable in the games he played and he had some other issues so he spent the rest of the year in the reserves.
